What level?

Beginner

"I'm discovering mountain biking"
👉 You are new to the practice or very uneasy on a mountain bike.

  • You discover the equipment, the balance and the sensations.
  • You mostly ride seated, at low speed, on easy terrain.
  • You learn to start, brake, turn and change gears without stress.
  • You can still get a feel for the environment (slope, surface, speed).
  • The main objectives are trust, safety and enjoyment.

By the end of the class, you know how to ride in balance on easy terrain, brake and turn safely, and you enjoy practicing.

Intermediate

"I can control my bike on easy terrain"
👉 You already know how to ride, but you are not always proactive on your mountain bike.

  • You ride standing up on the pedals on easy terrain.
  • You know how to brake and change gears, but without always anticipating.
  • You control your speed, but sometimes you lock the wheels.
  • You manage to make turns, but your position remains rather passive.
  • You discover different terrains (dirt, gravel, gentle slopes).


By the end of the class, you start to be independent on easy terrain, you control your speed better and you gain in relaxation and confidence.

Advanced

"I actively ride my mountain bike"

👉 You are comfortable on your bike and you are starting to use it actively.

  • You adopt a stable and dynamic position.
  • You are getting better and better at anticipating position, braking and gear changes.
  • You go over simple obstacles (roots, small steps).
  • You engage your body to absorb the terrain.
  • You are starting with simple jumps and pumping.

At the end of the class, you ride on green and blue tracks, you use your body to overcome obstacles and you discover dissociation in turns.

Expert

"I can control my riding on almost any terrain."

👉 You are very comfortable and you are looking for performance and precision.

  • You drive in an anticipatory position most of the time.
  • You have good braking precision, including with the front brake.
  • You are dissociated in the turns and vary the load.
  • You jump intentionally (drops, tables, bunny-hop).
  • You adapt your technique to the terrain (mud, roots, slope).

By the end of the class, you ride independently on most of the tracks, you master the load, jumps and challenging turns.

Extreme

"I'm making the most of my mountain bike and the terrain."
👉 You pilot with anticipation, precision, and total commitment.

  • Your balance is fine and controlled, even at low speed or when stopped.
  • You instantly adapt braking, speeds and trajectories.
  • You control the load and vertical movement in all situations.
  • You have mastered the different types of jumps and their take-offs.
  • You adapt your practice according to the discipline (DH, Enduro, Dirt, etc.).


By the end of the class, you will be able to ride on all types of terrain and tracks, demonstrating technical mastery and advanced adaptability.
